#1: Another Central Locking Topic Author: rickdo, Posted: Mon Feb 11, 2013 2:16 pm ---- Hi All,
I've just purchased a Peugeot 206 1999 1.4 second hand.
It's a lovely car and im liking everything about it. Stupidly before buying it i forgot to check the central locking on the car and am now able to lock all the doors manually except for the boot.
I have tried resynching my key to the car with no success and when i press the unlock button on the key there are a series of clicking sounds (4 in total) from underneath the steering wheel but no action to any of the locks.
So confirming it is receiving a signal and unable to find a bloody relevant owners manual im at a loss.
Can anyone shed any light on manually locking the boot or finding the issue with my locking?
Thanks!

#3: Re: Another Central Locking Topic Author: rickdo, Posted: Mon Feb 11, 2013 4:11 pm ---- Thanks, was doing that while waiting for a reply
None of the doors locks work centrally, would they have all blown?
#4: Re: Another Central Locking Topic Author: Steve206, Location: UKPosted: Mon Feb 11, 2013 4:23 pm ---- Check the central locking fuse? Do they lock altogether with they key in the door, or do they 'bounce' when you use the remote central locking
#5: Re: Another Central Locking Topic Author: rickdo, Posted: Mon Feb 11, 2013 4:34 pm ---- I don't have the manual for my car so i didn't know which fuse was for my model.
I checked with another 206 manual (the CC one) and it wasn't the same as mine so i didnt change anything. Looking at the fuses tho they all look good, no snapped wires or melted fuses
#6: Re: Another Central Locking Topic Author: rickdo, Posted: Wed Feb 20, 2013 11:09 am ---- They don't bounce though, they do nothing. only thing that happens is there is a clicking noise from underneath the steering wheel. They don't lock altogether with the key in the door, it only locks the door the key is in
#7: Re: Another Central Locking Topic Author: paulsc, Posted: Mon Feb 25, 2013 12:49 pm ---- Apologies Rickdo for jumping in on your thread but I now also have the same symptons on my son's 2000 peugeot 206.
All started when I swapped out some of the 20A fuses on the internal fusebox to try and get the cigarette lighter working once again. Didn't have my multimeter with me so reverted to the old fashioned way of swapping out fuses. Ignition was always switched off at the time of swapping fuses.
Cigarette lighter now works but central locking buggered.
Same as above, lots of clicking underneath steering wheel but no action at all from any door lock motors, bouncing or otherwise. However, indicator lights do flash and alarm can be set as if everything was working ok but doors just do not lock electronically.
Have checked all fuses visually and tried swapping fuse 16 (30A) with a brand new fuse with no change.
Struggled to find relevant fuse but found this on the forum:
type a search for "FAQ: Pre-plexed fuse list."
which sort of helps to try and identify relevant fuses.

The picture towards the bottom of the replies shows the identical fuse layout to my son's Peugeot, but I question whether the fuse table correlates (1) F11 is quoted to be 2 from right on the bottom row. Isn't it second from left on the top row?
Also, my son's car has 3 off 15A fuses and 2 off 30A fuses which doesn't correlate with the table.
The bottom row looks more like "Passenger Fuse Box (12 fuse)" with F40 being the only 40A fuse in this box.
In my wife's Peugeot 206 2002 Haynes manual the only fuses linked to central locking are MF04 (70A in engine), MF07 (30A in engine) and F16 (30A internal). Have checked all engine fuses and all are ok - both these engine fuses are also used by numerous other items such as electric windows, wipers, washer, etc so this double checks they are ok. F16 however is more difficult for me to identify in the older model Peugeot but assuming it is indeed a 30A fuse then there are only two to try if they are located as per the diagram above and both these were swapped out with a new fuse to no avail.
Have also tried re-programming the key fob and again this did not work.
My questions are:
1. Which fuse on the picture in the link above are related to the central locking?
2. With the symptons defined above and as per rickdo's original post, could be the cause of the central locking problem?
Thanks
#8: Re: Another Central Locking Topic Author: paulsc, Posted: Mon Feb 25, 2013 2:17 pm ---- Just been trawling through this forum and wandered if a BSI reboot would solve the problem.
Can you reboot the BSI on a Peugeot 206 (year 2000)?
If so, can a novice like myself do the reboot?
Thanks
#9: Re: Another Central Locking Topic Author: kulitone, Location: barnsleyPosted: Sat May 18, 2013 6:28 am ---- I cannot find the fusebox on my 2002 hdi 206 there's about 8 little fuses below steering wheel and some under bonnet please could some one explain where it is

There is no BSI reset on a non-mux (<Oct.2001) 206.
