#1: Engine Diagnosis Light, then won't start Author: StevenPrice, Posted: Tue Feb 12, 2013 2:02 pm ---- Hi,
I just bought a 52 Plate Peugeot 206 Look Petrol 1.1 as my first car
We had driven it for only 4 hours over about a week when last night, the car juddered, seemed to lose some power, the Engine Diagnosis Light appeared and I creeped home, turned it off, and went to bed..
Anyway, I was talking to a mechanic who we know, and he said he could come over and diagnose the problem this evening. However, the car wouldn't start and instead just made the stereotypical noise of a car which isn't going to start
He diagnosed the problem as P1327 which suggested there was an issue with the Crankshaft Sensor during the Ignition Phase. After a while of looking at the car, he thinks the cambelt may have jumped a tooth..
Now here are some questions;
1) The cambelt was replaced at 67950 miles (car now 105000 miles).. is this not very soon for a problem to arise?
2) Is there a chance the timing belt has ruined a valve?
3) Could it be anything else?
I can try to tell you some more, but I am not sure what you need to know to try and help me.. I really appreciate your help, Thanks!
