Sounds like the problem I had with my Mrs's car. It was a bent valve, would explain the wet plug. or one of the plug thats wet isnt sparking? Have to tried taking the pack out and inserting the plugs and turning the car over with the plugs near a metal source to see if their all working?

Andrew

how will i know for sure? will i see any petrol at all? i checked all round the rail n cleaned it no sign of anything and used injector cleaner. i also listened to it when on and could here them work fine but def something thats wrong. im hoping by the 3rd plug being clean again its not piston rings valve stem or head gasket etc my car is spot on no engine light better fuel milage and back to power again its just slight misfire and in 4th 5th shakes like hell fs Sad

First get a compression test done - just to be certain it isn't head gasket or valve problem.
I don't mean an external injector leak but an internal one into the cylinder - injectors don't always reseat properly and then they leak. The extra fuel will cause a misfire and wet plug. Though it ought to bring up an engine light.
If the compression test shows the engine in good condition and all cylinders within 10% of each other you could swap No3 injector with No4 and see if the fault follows the injector. If it does it is injector problem. If it doesn't then you have another fault.

It may also be worth reading the codes, clearing any stored, driving the car and then reading them again.

I also note you have had exhaust work done. A leak on the exhaust can cause strange problems. Get someone to hold a rag over the end of the exhaust while you check for leaks. If you have a leak fix that before anything else.

ah right i see.. i will get that checked asap.. the car is running much better again the more i use it which is good but still there and i done that with the exhaust and found a tiny tiny hole befpre the back box this wouldnt cause anything would it ? to misfire ? thanks for the help mate

Leak just before the back box is unlikely to cause a problem. A leak before any sensor, as you know from recent experience, will.

You can buy a compression tester from any good motor shop (just make sure it has the right screw thread (same as your plugs) for your head or a garage will do one for relatively little money.

Swapping injectors is free, except for your time and provided you don't damage anything doing it.

update .. just had diagnostic test in a garage and they have said its the coilpack and i need new set of plugs but ive went through three sets of plugs and tried two differant coil packs but same problem. it seems to run better again when warm but when i start it shakes badly again and engine light on untill its warm. im left clueless

did you do a compression test as suggested in previous post

Is No3 plug still oily? As before compression test (have you had it done? What were the readings?) and swap injectors No3 for No4 and see if the fault follows the injector.
