#1: Back in a 206! 1.6 again lol! Author: colganraz, Location: LeedsPosted: Fri Feb 22, 2013 12:47 pm ---- After owning a 2003 1.6 16v XSi for almost 1 year, I was doing alot of miles on the motorway and upgraded to a diesel.
I dont know if anyone will be active on the forum from when I used to come on fairly heavily, I would have posted in the newbie section but I thought it didnt apply
This is my first 206, was impressed with all the electronics on board and the spec of the vehicle, surprisingly punchy engine for a 1.6 that is also decent on fuel.
I got an A3 next that was a 1.9 TDi, very solid decent car to drive, 60MPG+ and cheap tax but jesus was it expensive for repairs & maintenance, and pretty sluggish and boring to be fair. Nice pic of me here getting hassled by West Yorkshires finest !
With the MOT, tax and insurance due in the same month, and currently out of work due to unforseen circumstances, it was time to sell up on the A3.
I knew with the money from the car I would buy another 206 but this time the 2.0 HDi, after scouring Gumtree/Ebay/Autotrader/Pistonheads for a decent amount of time and seeing nothing in my budget that was decent I decided to explore new avenues. I thought the 1.6 XSi would be a brilliant option!
This is what I picked up today, the car is absoloutely mint condition in electric blue, with spoiler and SP arches, Im so happy with the car and the price I got it for, defenaitely a credit to its previous owner, had the major service, cambelt etc done 9k miles ago and drives sweet as nut!
Plans for the car - order xenon bulbs, white plate lights and get some flat blade wipers immediately.
