I've done no digging as didn't have time, but not checked the bulbs or fuses etc.. Any ideas for when I get back?
It's a multiplex GTi if that's any help.

During that day while it was light my lights had came on auto and gone off quickly but i didnt think anything of it unill i went to drive it in the dark
