#1: Coolant overflow bottle had it?? Author: clark_me_dead, Location: AustraliaPosted: Sat Mar 02, 2013 6:29 pm ---- After a 30min or so drive, I've started to notice a slight coolant smell.
Felt the footwell carpets for signs of a leaky heatercore, but nothing.
So it turns out my overflow bottle has dried coolant on it, as per the pics below.
I read that cap seal can perish and leak coolant over the engine cover, but that hasn't happened as the engine cover looks fine.
So I'm starting to wonder if bottle is damaged and leaking from the middle, but is that even possible?
This has been happening for a while now, I've been a little slack and haven't bother to sort it out.
Car still drives perfect, with no high temp readings.
Help?!?
