so finally got my OBD reader today,i know it should only be used as a guide as its not exactly garage-spec (£35) but EML has been on since yesterday and read only a P0300 general/multiple misfire.

Reset this and went for a round trip to the supermarket (still idling like a git but doesnt seem down on power) read it again once home with EML still off and no codes stored or pending!

Since the idleing has gone mad i have:

Cleaned ICV
replaced plugs from NGPoo to bosch
cleaned throttle body

Google would suggest the (sagem) coilpack has bit the bullet but wondered if was anything else to try first? i've seen you can test the pack but im not an electrical person and dont have the tools for this either Sad

As a sidenote if it helps it idled bad only when cold before, had belt tensioner and water pump done by krisb and now it does it more when warm, seems better than it was when cold since cleaned everything up

Cheers guys, this is driving me nuts now as dont wanna cause any lasting damage
