Can anyone confirm if the 1.4 hdi has 2 engine temp sensors. 1 to gauge and 1 to ecu or is it the single sensor located on the thermostat the supplies both?

Im pretty certain its only the one sensor on the thermostat but was certain I had read it used 2 for some bizzare reason. Im pretty certain my thermostat is dodgy (stuck open or sticking) so im goung to strip it off andhave a look/test at the weekend. I have seen a replacement that comes with a sensor so if it is ill change both.
