#1: anyone tried this new induction kit or know someone who has? Author: lee1985, Location: North WestPosted: Tue Mar 12, 2013 1:11 pm ---- www.demon-tweeks.co.uk...filter-kit
Apparantly it's a carbon fibre one and so the hot air from the engine becomes no problem - only the cool air reaches the inlet because it's basically a heat shield
It's price would suggest it's a decent bit of kit but I wonder what the throttle response improvement would be, and also what noise it makes.

It's made by BMC, one of the best induction and filter companies in the world after ITG. As long as you buy the correct one for your car it will work perfectly. These are just designed to be universal. They're actually designed to be able to be used within a certain bracket. Such as 1.0 to 1.6 engines and then 1.6 to 2.0 and so on.
TBH the universal kits are only really bought by people who are running boosted engine and want the filter fitted to the turbo to be shielded.
I've got a BMC CDA 85-150 carbon fibre induction setup which is off the V6 engine sitting around because I was going to fit it to my SW no I'm after an intercooler setup. Always sworn by BMC because of the quality of the product and the increases that they give is unreal.
It's the closest setup your going to get to having a ITG Maxogen Induction kit which are close to £500 each.

Talk about closed minded you fool.
I appreciate the work and effort bmc put into their kits just anything "universal" never has worked well for me personally

Author: mr-pug, Location: chesterfieldPosted: Thu Mar 21, 2013 5:25 pm ---- ive used a bmc cda kit before on my old c2, it was a good quality kit and looked well but didnt sound as throaty as a open coned filter and there are only slight gains between them i think, best gains are usually from replacement panel filters arent they, as for universal kits they can be ok just try and find out size ect first just to make sure its gonna fit
