#1: Cruise Control on 180 Author: lee1985, Location: North WestPosted: Wed Mar 13, 2013 9:31 am ---- I think I've asked this before but didn't get much information and now need some reliable info that I can make a decision on as it's been on my mind for quite a while now.
Been told from Peugeot that they can do it for £130 (alot?!!) but there's no guarantee. The guy said it depends on whether the computer is programmed to accept cruise control bla de bla and it's a hit and miss thing.
Question: Has anyone successfully installed (or know of anyone who has) cruise control on a 206 GTI 180 with relatively no problems afterwards? OR failing that, does anyone know a definitive way of installing cruise control on a 180 even at a cost.
If so, I will be very keen to get it done.
#2: Re: Cruise Control on 180 Author: Big_Rich180, Posted: Wed Mar 13, 2013 9:39 am ---- IRCC the ECU can be changed to accept cruise control BUT its more dependent on if there is a switch on the clutch (or something to that degree), shame Lee isnt here anymore he'd know.
#3: Re: Cruise Control on 180 Author: MrBSI, Location: What's it to you? ? ?Posted: Wed Mar 13, 2013 9:43 am ---- Some engine ecu's on the 206 are locked out of having cruise control activated.
If the engine ecu is capable then retrofitting cruise control is simple.

Depends on the thread
As for cruise, a fiddle with Planet will show if it can be done on the car in question, all depends if the setting is allowed to be unlocked in the ecu.
BSI should be fine, engine ecu its a 50 / 50 toss up.

Okay next question, who can I go to around Manchester who has the equipment available to tell me whether I will be lucky with CC or not? I don't want to pay loads of money for something that will be non refundable when I realise it doesn't even work!
Anyone know?
#7: Re: Cruise Control on 180 Author: MrBSI, Location: What's it to you? ? ?Posted: Wed Mar 13, 2013 10:01 am ---- Planet is cheap enough to buy now for most forum users & owning a Peugeot will soon pay for itself
#8: Re: Cruise Control on 180 Author: lee1985, Location: North WestPosted: Wed Mar 13, 2013 10:06 am ---- Wouldn't want to buy it, I'd have absolutely no idea what I'm doing with it and not afraid to admit it. I'd probably f*** up the ECU and turn my car into something else.
Ill happy go to anyone in the North West who has Peugeot Planet if it allows me to see whether or not my car will accept CC. Unless the dealer could do this themselves? Let the fun begin
#9: Re: Cruise Control on 180 Author: lee1985, Location: North WestPosted: Wed Mar 13, 2013 10:13 am ---- One other idea more like blue sky thinking here though.
If the ECU is locked from activating cruise control then is it possible to reprogramme it/change it in such a way that it does accept CC? I mean the ECU is only a computer and computers can be easily changed, everything's done by them these days. Failing that, then some sort of custom ECU that accepts CC?

You might be able to find someone that could reflash the ecu, i've never really bothered to look in to it as I know my 206 cant ever do cruise.

#13: Re: Cruise Control on 180 Author: DJ-, Location: UKPosted: Wed Mar 13, 2013 2:10 pm ---- Search for a 10page ish thread by SAB206 on CC on a 206. Will be helpful.
#14: Re: Cruise Control on 180 Author: Steve206, Location: UKPosted: Wed Mar 13, 2013 4:30 pm ---- Mine was locked out
