Yes mate, its very similar to the 106 Gti and saxo Vts engine, just newer with slight differences.

Lots of perts for them will fit the 206 you have, just ask if your unsure.

Start with a bigger engine.

why? the 1.6 has 27 bhp less than the 2.0 as standard and is a little lighter, much better on fuel, cheaper to tax and insure and the TU5 engine is really tuneable.

Torque Wink ever heard the phrase there's no replacement for displacement Wink

JP4s are excellent to tune, even more so than the VTS / 106 GTI J4 due to the larger valves can easily see an extra 5-10bhp more with the same mods when mapped right

May be so, but the JP4 is known to have a weaker bottom end than the J4 hence in the big power projects you see a mixture of the J4 bottom end with the JP4 head.

Yup, best combination I've found is

J4 bottom end
JP4 head + valves
J4 cams, springs (everything else really)

If I do a rebuild this is what I will be doing have a few engines here mixture of J4s and JP4s. But going to blow up this one first.

Aye, does make a good starting point that mixture, im in the middle of doing a JP4 conversion on my mates Saxo VTs but it's just the full JP4 lump going in.

I personally wouldn't bother unless it was a hyrbrid build. Looks pretty awkward to re drill the inlet holes and stuff? J4s are so widely available and cheap too

I tried to convince him to do the hybrid build, but he just wouldn't have it, most of the work's done now anyway, only 5 holes to drill and tap, 4 on the inlet and one by the oil filter, then everything else just bolts on.
