How many have removed the factory bonnet lining?

Careful ... it also protects the bonnet from heat and damaging the paint finish.

I've removed mine temporarily till I go back to work tuesday to buy more clips for it. It acts as a soundproofing to quiet the engine down a bit and as Gaz said,it protects the paint from heat. Recommended to keep on IMO

Some models don't come with it, but it can cause faults with injectors etc from water dripping. Why would you want to remove it?

I taken mine off. Does absolutely nothing. Engines still giving of the same amount of noise and having driven the car 4 months now and still nothing has happened to the paint.

Ditto, my didnt come with one. (have had it 18months) Still looks fine underneath and cant see any issues at all.

As far as I know my cars never had bonnet lining fitted and the paintwork is on fine condition Smile

I think other than protecting the bonnet from heat it doesn't do anything else but it will be staying on, may even get a new liner

I never had mine on lucy for about 7 years?! Did nothing to the paint

Knew it affected some engines, I cant see the benefit or gains from removing it.
