#1: new cambelt Author: harry206, Posted: Wed Apr 03, 2013 5:49 am ---- Ive just had some work done on my 206 by my brother after the previous cambelt shred a few teeth and slipped causing damage to my valves! the works all now complete, with basically the whole engine stripped and cleaned and after being put back together at his work it started first time and is running beautifully! The only thing ive noticed is it can be abit juddery every now and then, its not so bad to the point that i dont feel confortable driving it, its just the fact i would like to knowif it will get smoother, id say the cars only done around 50 miles since being done so will it get alot better after the 150 miles to wear it in? have my test in less than a fortnight so just abit weary! thanks!

#4: Re: new cambelt Author: harry206, Posted: Thu Apr 04, 2013 2:22 am ---- head gasket was replaced:) temp gauge has been fine as have been checking that while driving, just ever now and then when sitting at idle it will go from just under 1000rpm to just over and when driving can be abit sticky, taken it down the dual carriageway at roughly 70 for 5 minutes and it didnt feel too bad to me, cheers!

Power should increase gradually and smooth-out if the valves have been replaced, as they 'form' nicely into the seats and compression increases.
This can take anything from 300 to 700 miles.
