#1: overheating problem Author: arrjmai, Location: BangkokPosted: Sat Apr 06, 2013 7:03 pm ---- Hi guys I have been using my car for 7 years now. It was really good car has no problem at all I have been servicing in a very discipline way. It served me like charm also I drove for only 60,000 kilometers in 7 years less than 10,000 kilometers per year only just last year I had this timing belt broke while I was driving at 120 kilometer per hour. I needed then to change timing belt and repair the engine after that I have been using it fine engine sounded even firmer than the last 5th years of using this car.
Lat night I went for a party with my friend had some drink but not drunk stayed from midnight till very late at early morning. When I drove my car to my friend's house it was fine but when I drove back home after about 10 minutes the coolant gauge just went up instantly to almost the red warning overheating. I kept driving because I was really tired and were way so sleepy I continued driving the car for another 10 minutes then it went to red warning and the stop flashing so I turn over and stop the car open the bonnet I did not feel that hotter than normal the temp seemed fine and the fan was working properly. so I turn of the ignition wait for 15 minutes then start the car the coolant gauge went back a bit at 100 C. so I continued driving the car I was so sleepy so I just kept pushing accelerator pedal then it's showed stop flashing I was just ignored and it's went back to 100 c and I kept driving it went to red and stop flashing and went back to about 100 c. so I managed to drove my car back home. Once I got home open the bonnet use my hand swiped over the engine not touch it the temp seemed like not that super heated.
I will drive the car to the garage on Monday but I would like if anyone happen to have the same situation like mine It would be grateful for me if you can share your experiences.

then fill it back up and bleed the system, see if that solves the overheating problem.
Had a few overheating problems with previous peugeots with the TU engines, just replaced thermostats, drained the water system, refilled and bled the system and everything went back ok

Hi mate thank you so much I will try what you have suggested by tomorrow. The water in coolant system is stay the same no water gone. The fan was working properly. I thought it was weird situation.
