Noise from Tailgate
-> 206 Problems

#1: Noise from Tailgate Author: Jordy6969 PostPosted: Tue Apr 09, 2013 5:44 am

This has been constant since I bought the 206 2 months ago. I believe it's the boot flapping up and down but haven't found out what it definitely could be.

One thing I have noticed is that the boot doesn't open to the right height. I am 5'10" and I will bang my head if I do not crouch a bit when underneath the tailgate.

Can anyone tell me if this is normal as I know that the previous owner had replaced the tailgate lifters (don't know specific name). Wanna know if he replaced the lifters with the right ones or just a knackered set

Thanks

Check the boot catch. Mine was loose and needed adjusting. no more noise.

I'm 5' 11 and have to duck my head a little to get under the bootlid.

It would depend if the car was lowered or not.

Have you wrapped a bit of insulation tape around the post?
