Background:
so the car sounds like death and is seriously underpowered and cant even go up a slight incline!!! so managed to take it to a garage and they said it would be the spark plugs so they changed them nothing... they then changed the ht leads, coilpack.... nothing to then say they dont know what to do next?
so now im stuck as ive spent loads on trying to find the problem to the point were im now thinking of spending more money on a complete engine change? good idea?
so now i need as much advice/ guidance as possible...
i have a 1999 1.1 206, which engine would be best to go for? and a straight swap? i dont mind changing the engine loom and ecu?

Sack it off and buy a car that works, changing an engine will probably cost you just as much as I presume you wont be doing the work yourself as you let a garage change your spark plugs?

thank you for the welcome.
i can do it myself but i didnt know what the problem was so i went to the garage to get help and they ensured me they knew what it was and at £20 i didnt mind them changing them as they said that was the problem and it was a pain in the a** to get it there so i didnt want to drive it all the way back in the same state!

Petrol 206's don't have HT leads.

As above,if they told you they changed "ht leads" then i would be a bit cautious about going back to them to do anything else

A proper code read would be easier than guessing. You could pick up a second hand engine for cheap and fairly easy to fit yourself with the right tools.
