#1: 2001 206 1.4 GLX - Heater Blower not working Author: Resist, Location: BirminghamPosted: Thu Apr 11, 2013 8:10 am ---- Hello everyone.
I have used the search function for this problem, but many of the results seem unclear and all of the problems seem slightly different, so I'm going to post my problem in detail to try and get some help.
I've got a 2001 206 1.4 GLX. My car has got a the digital climate control like this:
(Image nicked from Google, sorry if it's yours or anything)
Mine has got the black and blue plugs on the back (Don't know if this makes any difference, but I know that there are two different types).
My heater fans have stopped working. The heated rear screen still works, but the fans to heat the inside of the car do not come on at all, at any speed. A local breakers yard have told me that the resistor has gone, and that mine is one of the ones that has got a resistor built into the heater blower motor (aparrently some of the models have got seperate resistors). They said that the resistor on its own costs over £100, so they only sell complete blower units.
Couple of questions:
1. Is there anything else I should check before I buy the new unit? (Fuses etc, and if so, which fuses?)
2. Is this what I should be looking for? - - - - www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peu...460e53cbba
Thanks for any advice!
Peace!

So yes, check your fuses! Easy stuff first
Cars vary but it looks like fuse F40 is the power supply direct to the fan motor
If fuse is ok I would check for power at the fan - see the two large pin terminals? That's an ignition on 12v supply on pin 2 there and pin 1 connects to the speed controller ( that's the 4 smaller terminals on the fan unit)
Yes that Ebay item is the fan with the speed controller BUT people have found problems with not fitting the same make of fan so check the part numbers as the fan speed controller gives fan speed feedback to the cabin control
