'Anti Pollution' engine management light
-> 206 Problems

#1: 'Anti Pollution' engine management light Author: 206HdiGti PostPosted: Tue Apr 16, 2013 6:15 am

I had my car serviced on Friday.

The diesel fuel, air, pollen and oil filter were all changed along with the oil.

It ran fine until the 'anti pollution' warning message came up on screen. I took the car back to my mate last night, who serviced the car and code P2048 came up - with some research its the fuel filler cap sensor??

He plugged his machine in again and when I pressed on the filler cap the message on his display went from "off" to "on" - there is a problem with the sensor obviously.

Is this sensor on the filler cap on in the mounting somewhere?

The fuel additive level was shown as fine on the computer as well so adding eloys or adblue is not necessary.

He did clear all the codes last night and no lights came on today and it's running fine, better than before the service.

Any ideas on the cap?

It's on the other side of the fuel filler neck, inside the rear arch. Might be the loom that has corroded though, rather than sensor being faulty.
