#3: Re: 04 206 1.4 diesel gear oil top up Author: bridge9, Posted: Wed Apr 24, 2013 4:17 pm ---- hi telakeppi, thanks for reply. but my gear book looks different to that photo. i have only 3 nuts holding that plate on and have no plug nut??
#4: Re: 04 206 1.4 diesel gear oil top up Author: bridge9, Posted: Wed Apr 24, 2013 4:24 pm ---- hi telakeppi i put up a photo, it's not great but you can just about see the 3 nuts i'm talking about. the one on the bottom right is not a plug nut, there are 3 of these and they are the nuts that hold the plate on.?? it has been suggested that they don't have any filler holes and you drain all the oil then fill the required amount by the top breather??? this seem stupid to me as it's nearly impossable to get at the top of the gearbox??? thanks

Do you have the drain plug? Nr. 1 in the first picture.

Peugeot standard procedure is to use the breather (black plastic cover) on top of the box which you'll see by removing the battery, next to the earthing straps.
Only use Total BV 75W80 or bitterly regret it.

#9: Re: 04 206 1.4 diesel gear oil top up Author: TelaKeppi, Location: FinlandPosted: Thu Apr 25, 2013 3:11 am ---- Thats really unfortunate. My 206 1.4HDi is also 04 and I have BVM MA5/O gearbox (part number 2222WY) and It definately have the filler plug.
For pictures, you could use something like imgur.com, upload your pictures and link them.

Some MA5 have it, later ones don't.
The one's without the drain-plug are nicer feel gearchange imo as they have 'improved' synchro cogs.
The OP should double check which they have though.
