Hi all,

I have a rattle coming from the belt end of the engine near the bottom. Sounds loud through the wheel arch. Only rattles when idling and goes when you rev the engine above 1500.

Any one else had this?

Thanks in advance

Clive

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, no not checked anything yet just tried to find the source of the noise.

How do you check the pulley, get hold of it and give it a good wiggle? Is this the pulley on the bottom of the crank?

Thanks

Will be the bottom pulley, if its the original they have a rubber middle which wears down and fails..

Do you have to remove the cam belt to swap these?

I had these symptoms on mine, mechanics were saying pulleys, was advised to change auxillary belt first and see how it went, changing just the belt everything is now hunky dory even a year later.
