GTI 180 still lumpy Idle
-> 206 Problems

#1: GTI 180 still lumpy Idle Author: 19Connor92, Location: Southend-On-sea PostPosted: Sat May 04, 2013 11:45 am
    ----
Changed the spark plugs, Panel Air filter and cleaned the following:

- VVT
- Camshaft sensor
- MAP sensor
- Throttle body
- Temp sensor

Still really bad idle, whole car judders and shakes. The car seems to be losing power, accelerator does not seem that responsive.

Thinking it might be an injector not spraying properly? any one had this on there GTI 180

Ive got an GTI 140, and a similar problem. But my problems always goes away after 1-2min. And only happens when the engine is cold, and I mean like if the weathers icey. Doesnt happen in summer. But I was told it may be Hydraulic Lifters aka tappets.

I dont have a clue on engines though, so dont take my word for it Smile

The tappets are self adjusting i think? and i disconnected both O2 sensors and the problem carried on. as any one had trouble with the accelerator and throttle body?

Why you think your problem will gone when you remove O2 sensor. Smile Its not a Honda. It doesnt matter you unplug o2 sensors or your o2 sensors faulty. Still you will get silly working engine.

Do you have a change to read ECU errors. and tappets self adjusting hydraulic one. And I never saw faulty throttle body. But there is a calibration throttle body in PeugeotPlanet2000 software. But Its only about performance of your car. Even mis/wrong calibrated your idle must be same as correctly calibrated. And one of my friend cars (gti180) have problem with injectors due bad fuel. Sonic cleaning solved his problem.

i unpluged the O2 sensors from the plug thinking that if it was a probably with with the O2 it would stop when it was unpluged? Point-to-Point fault diagnosis... Because when you decat the exhaust you dont have them do you? and yea got laptop software no stored faults.
