Brake Pedal travel Compensator Adjustment?

#1: Brake Pedal travel Compensator Adjustment? Author: 206-GTi, Location: Essex PostPosted: Sun May 05, 2013 4:08 am

Hi all,

Since I have had the GTi, the brake Pedal travel seems really excessive.

It seems about 40mm of pedal travel before the pads start to grip the disc. Towards the end of last year I had the master cylinder changed to rule out the possibility of something escaping.

I've searched the forums but always seem to get a million unrelated results even down to a single search term.

Is there such a thing as a brake pedal compensator on the GTi? If so where can I find it and how does one get the best out of it?

Any help appreciated.

Pretty sure the master cylinder has a threaded rod that you can lengthen to take up any play.

Would a gti180 master cylinder be of any benifit do you think?

Assume if the rod is adjusted on the MC there's a possibility of not being able to brake as hard?

Cheers
