Author: chief93, Location: United KingdomPosted: Wed May 15, 2013 12:00 pm ---- Right since ive had no interest in the pug i think im going to keep it and go down the euro route got some interesting plans for it which includes smoothing off the rear bumper where the exhaust cut out is then maybe have a downward facing exhaust off the hdi just behind the bumper? is there any laws against this? maybe even thinking of having a side exit out of the bumper? thoughts?
Thankyou apologises for the lack of grammar!

1) not stop hassle from the police for being too loud
2) finding a decent place to mount it, dont want it coming underneath the sill because it means i cant go mega low.

I think the general rule of thumb is for an exhaust to exit behind the passenger area, which on a 206 is the back bumper.
There is a provision in Construction and Use Regs which govern the exhaust, but they are very ambiguous.Your biggest concern about coming out the side is the backbox. Without this, you could fall foul of the noise regulations, and unless you got a bespoke exhaust fabricated, you won't be able to go much lower than standard due to the diameter of the pipe/
If you are unsure about positioning, you can always contact the local traffic commissioners office, who will point you on the right direction
