PLanet 2000. Error codes
1st fault was permanent, brake light switch open circuit.
2nd fault was throttle discrepency, 40% sensor 1 & 52% sensor 2.
What parts do I need to replace on car?

206 hdi 2.0 2002

First:You need a new brake light switch,it's the one fitted on the brake pedal, easy to replace.

Second:It will be more helpful if you got the fault code,so we know exactly what to look for.

P0221 - Throttle/Petal Position Sensor/Switch 'B' Circuit Range/Performance Problem

Possible causes
- Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) harness is open or shorted
- Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)
- Fault Electric Throttle Control Actuator (or Throttle Body Motor)
- Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (APP)

Electric Throttle Control Actuator consists of throttle control motor, throttle position sensor (TPS), etc. The throttle position sensor responds to the throttle valve movement.

The throttle position sensor has the two sensors. These sensors are a kind of potentiometers which transform the throttle valve position into output voltage, and emit the voltage signal to the Engine Control Module (ECM) In addition, these sensors detect the opening and closing speed of the throttle valve and feed the voltage signals to the ECM. The ECM judges the current opening angle of the throttle valve from these signals and the ECM controls the throttle control motor to make the throttle valve opening angle properly in response to driving condition.

Taken from www.engine-codes.com/P0221.html

The light should go out when it's repaired, but the code will still be stored until it's deleted.

Hi Delo.
Tried to help you on your other thread.(ANTI POLLUSION FAULT)
It goes like this when you have an an anti pollusion fault come up on your MFD, your EML light comes on as well,
as in the senario with me, the mechanic told me to give it a good blast in low gears, to clear all the crap out of my cat. This cleared my fault. The mechanic then cleared the fault code (throttle position sensor) which i presume shows up when you have a anti pollusion fault.
Hope this helps.

FIXED.

Replaced brake sensor and replaced throttle sensor H20cooler reset my fault codes and no anti pollution fault anymore. Emlight no longer on.

Brake sensor was noticeably burnt out inside, throttle sensor requires special tool to access internallly so £20 one from breakers seems to work
