#1: My Mister 2 Author: 206HdiGti, Posted: Tue May 28, 2013 7:49 am ---- Had this for 6 years now.
Currently rebuilding the engine but this is what she will look like (again) at the beginning of August!
And as a result of loving my car so much, my GF made me a special bespoke birthday cake! It took ages to eat this!

Nice little motor, I had a mk 3 a few years ago and they are very very good cars to drive, I can only imagine this being even better.
#4: Re: My Mister 2 Author: 206HdiGti, Posted: Tue May 28, 2013 10:54 am ---- The mk3 is underpowered having the 140 hp vvti engine from the slow Celica, but apparently it's marginally better round B roads than the mk1. Though that may have been compared to a standard mk1.
I'm buying mild cams hoping to up my current power from 122 to a min of 150
I've already got a full koni kit and it's lowered 30mm
Celica GT4 twin pot pistons
0.5 over size pistons
1mm metal head gasket
Full bottom end rebuild
Impreza modified red stuff front pads
Braided hoses all round
Fidanza lightened flywheel
Janspeed / Powerflow exhausts (don't know which one i'll put back on ;))
Beefier rear ARB from the mk2 turbo
There will also be some weight saving around too
Much more on the list plus the rear arches are being done in August.

It was originally called the 'MRS' but changed due to the English interpretation of the initials

Mk3's are not under powered, I agree the engine in the Celica shell is slow but in the much lighter MR2 its better.
Still I look forward to seeing this come together.
#8: Re: My Mister 2 Author: 206HdiGti, Posted: Wed May 29, 2013 4:39 am ---- I don't know why they didn't put the 190 hp celica engine in the mk3 - would have been another choice other than just one really. The mk1 and mr2 had different engine choices. May explain why the mk3 didn't sell that well.
Many, many conversions have been carried out though. Although the 2zzge engine conversion is put in the mk1 quite a lot instead of the mk3. So many different engine conversion variations, but i'm sticking with originality with mine.

Fuelling maybe an issue along with poor idle due to lumpy cams, but i'm not bothered about a high idle speed, as long as it does actually idle! Nothing could be worse than having bouncing revs sitting at the lights and then eventually dying when you pull away!

This is the actual abbreviation meaning.
Although in France it means Toyota Sh*t.

Yeah the 190 conversions are silly fast.
Had you thought about charging yours, I know they did a charged mk1 but I guess they are really rare now days.
#12: Re: My Mister 2 Author: 206HdiGti, Posted: Wed May 29, 2013 4:43 pm ---- There are a few chargers for sale atm.
The conversion is the mk2 turbo with 300hp easily gainable from the 280hp engine.
I considered it but wanted to keep the weight balance the same etc
Keeping the originality, well same engine, will come in handy when I sell it next year.
