#1: Telling me boot open, but not, central locking bouncing! Author: Werdnal, Location: Cornwall, UKPosted: Mon Jun 17, 2013 4:49 am ---- On way home this morning, alarm telling me boot open came on. I stopped to check, boot closed and won't open at all. Central locking is now bouncing so I cannot lock the car at all. Its an SW and neither the tailgate or the top screen will open, and boot light is on all the time.
I have thumped the tailgate from outside to try to release it. This happened once before, when I first had the car, and cannot remember what we did to actually solve it, but then it turned out to be a sweet wrapper stick in the lock! Then though, it just jammed shut, and didn't bounce the locking or show as open on the display.
Any suggestions how I can get it open please? Got to go to work in a mo and now cannot lock the car outside
Great start to week!

Author: Werdnal, Location: Cornwall, UKPosted: Mon Jun 17, 2013 5:04 am ---- Not going to believe this ... typed the above whilst waiting for rain to ease off. Just been out to fiddle with car again, tried the boot and it opened! Nothing obviously jammed in lock and its all clean and working freely, so what the Hell was it? Wondering if its going the play silly beggars again any time soon ...
Just as an aside, does anyone else have a problem with other key fobs unlocking your 206? I have parked up in works car park, locked car and check it has locked before I walk away, then come back to find it open, so I'm guessing to reacts to someone elses signal! I have also stood by it whilst talking to a neighbour's son who was visiting, and as he unlocked his car, mine locked! All a bit worrying really ...

You have a faulty boot sensor & this is part of the locking system.
The SW also has AUTO RELOCK feature which will automatically relock the car after a short time if its unlocked & no door / boot is opened.
If the sensor is faulty it can also unlock the car.
Fix the fault with the boot sensor & you should find the locking system will behave itself.
