I know we have 5wks to go til the show but just thought i'd mention it now.

Me and my brother are staying in a travelodge (leigh delamere services) at junction 17 on the m4 on the friday night so if anyone who's driving from the east wants to meet up sat morning and drive to castle combe in convoy feel free to give me a shout on fb and then once we know what time to be there for we can arrange a meeting time

it's on junction 17 of the m4 at the eastbound service station, we'll meet you at the entrance or for me the exit to the main road

ah sorry mate, just looked at it myself and junc17 is before the service station , only thing i can think of is if you take junc17 there may be a road leading to the travelodge

Hello chaps, count me in! Smile

So let's meet just outside Travelodge 6:20am? Those services are both eastbound and westbound, as they have a bridge over, so just exit M4 going either direction.

Here's the spot: Google Maps

Sweet! Welcome aboard mate Very Happy thats alright then I dont need to find a route and tab cross country lol!

#11: Re: Convoy to FCS Author: Sim, Location: West Country PostPosted: Wed Jul 24, 2013 4:29 am
    ----
Blimey they have the bridge but it's not connected to the services! D:

So those going eastbound will have to u-turn at J17; for westbounders is all OK.

MattyP could you confirm you're ok with meeting point outside Travelodge?

PS: those interested in FCS not necessarily are checking the "Free Chat" forum. Including myself Wink
Move out to "Events" forum? Better late than later than that :))

We're meeting on the eastbound side mate so westbound people will have to go to junction 18 and come back on them selves or find a different route, if there's no connecting bridge. Im personaly going to go to 18 and come back saves getting lost lol

Ah shucks, got mislead by Google Maps showing Travelodge at westbound services :{

Thanks for correction mate!

So just like

Welcome aboard Sledge Smile the services are just before junc 17 eastbound but there is a back road which you can take from junc 17 to the road where we are meeting at 6.20, from there it's only 20mins to castle combe on the a/b roads

#18: Re: Convoy to FCS Author: Sim, Location: West Country PostPosted: Wed Jul 24, 2013 8:43 am

Cheers MattyP

I believe I've finally found our meeting point:
maps - meeting point is the exit to the a/b road located north-east of the services, leading to going over the bridge southwards

Google Maps do not show it as a valid road, that was the problem

Cheers MattyP, I'll be travelling eastbound and easiest for me is to stop at the services. When will you be leaving those?

I can't find the mysterious road you are talking about, especially when eastbound services look completely isolated from any other roads except the motorway

Cool Smile will be leaving at 6.25 so we arrive at combe with plenty of time to que lol if you get directions from the services to castle combe it shows a road from the back of the services and goes across the m4

ok now i'm now confused, my iphone shows the above yet on the aa route planner it says to go to junc 17 and head towards chippenham and take the a420 for a bit lol
