#1: 1.6 HDI Hiccup then stopped and wont start. Author: nellyhaggis, Location: SheffieldPosted: Wed Jul 03, 2013 4:09 pm ---- as the title says ive been driving my 206 hdi 1.6 and the car has hiccup at a corner then half a mile down the road it lost all power and stopped and wouldnt start again.
The history behind it is there has been a strange lack of power when I put my foot down sometimes then it would clear and go like stink. Its been doing it for ages the a speed sensor fault came up so i replaced it. All seemed well after i changed it but then it started doing it again and then it died as mentioned above.
Any pointers or areas to look at would be great as ive come up blank with it.
I have ran a diagnostic on the car and it has no faults'
Basically im at the point where i will have to take it to pug which is a very last resort.

You need to go back to basics, diagnostics machines cant pinpoint all faults.

All PSA HDI engines have at least one turbocharger.

Possible faulty speed sensor?
Fuel pump?
Im sure someone can offer some better advice...they usualy do..!
Serves as a bump if nothing else..
I ask about the smoke with reference to the turbo and symptoms given..?

I changed the fuel filter and I thought that was the end of it then it.
It ran faultlessly for 250 miles then I jump in it this morning and the sod won't start.
I also changed the speed sensor.
One thing thou, should the rev counter register when I turn it over?
Just thinking it might be the crank sensor.
