Anyone know if brackets like the one in the pic that replaces the wire clip can be bought off-the-shelf?

It's the square bracket with a hole that fits over the gear stick. It replaces a wire circlip that pulls the black plastic tabs over the top of the gear stick ball joint to hold it in position. During racing the clip has a tendency to pop off, allowing the gear stick to jump up out of the selection mechanism so you can't change gear.

I doubt it but why dont you make one? Its very simple and doesnt look as though you'd need any specialist equipment to make one to be honest....
