I tried a pair of mole grips but didn't budge.
It is already off the car.

At a guess you are wanting to remove the sun visors, if yes there is a small screw on the rotating base which once undone will mean the sun visor just falls away,

I think it needs to be dismantled to remove the rod as it has a clip on the inside.
