Crying or Very sad

Well my hdi was bumped on friday. Big crease in the nearside rear panel and although the boot looked ok it wouldnt open. Turns out its pushed it all in so much that the spare wheel bolt is now on the vertical.

Its going to the assesors on wed but im not holding out much hope for it to be repaired.

Off to China with it.
At least you're OK, although wouldn't the bolt go horizontal as it starts out in the vertical position.

I have some pics so will post them tomm, I meant the flat head of the bolt was horizontal but now vertical. I was hit by the corner of their car right in the boot of mine. No real damage to theirs. Loose bumper but looked like just a bracket. Their light didnt even smash.

Should I take those alloys offand put my stellies back on. The insurance company say they will take things like alloys into account for an offer but I can see it myself.

Yep turn it back to complete standard. Those wheels will be worth about 100 quid!

Cheers Iain. Wheels coming off. Just removed the gti steering wheel so thats back to standard. Just have to wait and see what they offer me now. Hdi`s quite hard to find up here. Glas say dealer price is 1500 but im sure they will probably try to lower that. Seen quite a few down south for much cheaper.

Take off everyhting non standard, or even removable!!! My MG was written off a couple of months ago and they offered me £700 which was a joke! Took no account of the service history, lpg conversion, brand new tyres etc etc. They are simply going to offer you the lowest price they can find on the market so if it somes off.... TAKE IT OFF!!!

I had a friend who even removed his wipers and tyre valve covers when his car got shunted, always good to have spares!

Unless you have an agreed value insurance policy all you will get when the car is written off is market value.

Seeing as 206's are worth sod all don't expect much pay out after the insurance excess is deducted.

No excess as its non fault and the other partys insurance are dealing with it. Looking at ombudsmans website they say it should be a like for like and the 206 hdi up here is not overly cheap. As I said i also have the glas price (which their insurers say they use at retail value).
