#1: How to raise the suspension??? Author: omaghman2 PostPosted: Tue Jul 23, 2013 12:18 pm
    ----
Hi there peeps..
ok... let me explain... I have a 2000 206 l d.. the bog standard one. Now, I have two dogs. One's a German Shepherd and the other one is a cross between a Berniece mountain dog and a rotweiler. Anyhow.. We like to go to the beach, but the road from where we are to the beach is bumpy and hilly and generally you're all over the place trying to get there.
So, my wife drives, my son is shotgun, and then I am in the back with the dogs... one in the boot and one in the back seat with me. So there's about 40 stone of weight in the back.
So, what I want to do is to raise the front and back suspension to give more height, so the weight can be absorbed by the car instead of the bump stops and my posterior..
so.. any ideas??
thanks in advance

Does it bounce a lot or just go too low when you put weight in?

Don't raise it, just keep it the same height with thicker torsion bars. Although the ride will be harsher

steve206 - the shocks are fine.. it does the 1.5 bounce..
Harry - where does one acquire thicker torsion bars? Is it a custom job to get them made up? also, is it hard to put them in?

The ride I am not too worried about, it's just I dont want the a**e of the car creating fireworks going over a typical irish bog road....

What's the 1.5 bounce? The 206 rear suspension isn't ideal under a lot of weight. No offence intended.

They don't sound healthy then. Mine is rock hard to press down, no bounce at all, and mines totally standard.

Think, your car is 13 years old!
