I have the software and interface etc but struggling to install it and recognition the interface.

I have all the programs on the desktop but it says something about not being able to Validate?

Activating can be a PITA if you don't follow each step correctly. First time I did it I followed a step by step video on another comp and still found it awkward.
Now I have my comp fixed, just installing again. I got a validation error when trying to install from a flash drive, but the original disc is working fine.

I did that to, had install video playing on pc while I installed Planet on laptop.

I think you have to copy and paste the version number and the user id. If you try and type them, it doesn't accept it
Edit. Should read "dot t x t" but the anti chav speak filter changes it to text
