Thinking of getting a 206 2L Diesel

Hi Guys

My lovely green LX pugani took a turn for the worse today, after some dipstick thought it would be great to stop their car with the front my car at 40.

I've been looking at another 206 - the 2 litre HDi and they're a decent price. There are a few for 2 grand with ~80000 on the clock

Was wondering if anyone had experience with this engine in a 206. If anyone could write a brief summary of what it's like owning one, it would be much appreciated!

Many thanks in advance Smile

If it's good a good servIce history the 2.0 is bulletproof. Aux/crank pulley usually fails, it's replaced by a new design.

if your looking at these make sure you check the lifters aswell (cold start tapping ) but as
Steve206 says service history is a good start if unsure take someone who drives a diesel with you
you would be surprised the normal sounds from a diesel engine that sound like its falling apart
