How come dealer prices don't seem too bad anymore?
Used to think we're always overpriced

But just bin got for 2.0hdi

Cambelt kit
Water pump
Crank seal
Thermostat
Seal for above
Crank pulley bolt
Total £133.69

Which I thought was pretty good for genuine parts

Manufacturers & main dealers have seen more & more people using motor factors for parts.

Main dealers want your money / potential new car sale so they are getting competitive on parts prices to get the customers back through there doors.

That's very very good value. Bought cambelt kit and water pump from motor factors at trade price and it was only a tad cheaper than that.

I dunno if the model of 206 makes a difference to the price of genuine parts...

Also the 206 sold 7.5 million (more?) so parts should be cheap.

As far as I have been messing with cars, dealers have been pretty decent with service parts.

Although a lot of the parts are just re branded from other companies so it doesn't make a difference anyway. Trick is to research what companies supplied the car from factory and go direct to them.

Also if you buy the part from the dealers they usually pay for labour and new part if it fails in a certain time
