#1: Ball joint splitter? Author: harry206, Posted: Thu Aug 08, 2013 6:00 am ---- could anyone tell me if i need to get a ball joint splitter to to release the hub so i can get the fromt strut out of can i knock it out? ive disconnected everything, ready to replace the other springs. If this is the case how hard is it to reconnect it? car is a 1.1 look. thankyou

Edwards advice is good, but even then it's not easy with one person especially when trying to align it back up.

It is held in place by a pinch bolt. The Haynes manual isn't perfect for all tasks but for jobs like these it is very good. Buy one it is £16 well spent.
