We need to access the airbag ring, how do you remove the steering wheel cover (where the airbag is) and the steering wheel? Smile

Model is 2003 LX (53 plate)

well if you feel the steering wheel from the back, you will find a lock that is holding the airbag in place,to unclip this lock, you need to use a flat head screw driver, and insert it there, and push it down, and that will release it,but you have to be careful doing this, and don't forget to take battery off so that the airbag don't explode while u work there.

What model? One airbag clips on (multiplex), one it held on with screws ..

And after disconnecting the battery, leave the car for 20-30 mins to let the airbag system discharge ...

Place the airbag face up ... if it does accidentally fire, it won't launch itself into orbit via the garage roof! (It won't but I'd love to see one do that ... but not in my garage! Wink )

Put voltage across the terminals.

Multimeter set on resistance or a PP3 battery out a smoke alarm will do it.
