#1: ECO-MODE ? Author: Triggerfish, Posted: Sun Sep 29, 2013 1:41 pm ---- Been doing the car recently but I've got this on the dash, does anyone know what it means?
The car also cannot start?....just ticking noise? engine not turning.
Battery at 12.25v.
Any advice/solutions?

#3: Re: ECO-MOD ? Author: Steve206, Location: UKPosted: Sun Sep 29, 2013 4:34 pm ---- Flat battery, 12.25 isn't enough to fire it over.
#4: Re: ECO-MOD ? Author: Triggerfish, Posted: Mon Sep 30, 2013 5:29 am ---- ok, flat battery maybe.
so, is there anyway to renew the battery by topping or swapping the liquid inside?.....has anyone done this/procedure?....is it even possible?
#5: Re: ECO-MOD ? Author: mattymj, Location: NorfolkPosted: Mon Sep 30, 2013 6:03 am ---- Get it started and take it on a good run

Take the battery off and charge it. If it doesn't hold charge, then look at finding out why. Either the alternator isn't charging, bad connection, something is draining it or the battery is goosed.
Once the car is started, Eco-Mode will disappear from the mfd.
#7: Re: ECO-MOD ? Author: Ash, Location: Running from Ant and Lee and Adam...........Posted: Sat Oct 05, 2013 1:27 pm ---- Eco mode is timer based not voltage based.

ok, the old battery is now replaced by a new one. New battery shows 12.69V and measures at 14.45V when the engine is on and running.
Have left the car on the drive for 2 days now BUT.....ECO-MODE is now on again? but starts ok.....so would this mean that something is draining the battery?.....if so, how would you go about finding out what it is?

mmmmm.....timer, so does anyone know what that time would be? 24hrs?
This is rather confusing and I wonder if it has anything to do with an electrical part I had replaced recently? which were the com 2000 unit.
Any thoughts?

Would you/anyone be kind enough to point me on how this is done or is there a "how to" in these forum?

#12: Re: ECO-MOD ? Author: sxibeast, Location: Milton KeynesPosted: Tue Oct 15, 2013 9:24 am ---- Eco Mode on our 206 kicks in after about 3-4 minutes of sitting in the car with the ignition off and stereo on (as Ash said, a timer based).
As far i was aware this only shut off the power and powered down the car to prevent aux equipment draining the battery and had nothing to do with any voltage/power issues on the car?
My sisters 206 however, has stopped displaying Eco Mode and wont shut off the stereo...
#13: Re: ECO-MOD ? Author: Triggerfish, Posted: Tue Oct 15, 2013 10:37 am ---- Tried the BSI reboot exactly as per the guild on sat 12th and still got an eco-mode today.
Although the car were simply de-alarmed and simply left as it is, no opening of doors or anything on inside.....yet some 2 hours later, trying to start the car, the eco-mode is on.
So maybe yes, it is a time thing. But surely, this eco-mode is there to protect the battery draining.....so would this not mean something is draining the battery itself?
#14: Re: ECO-MOD ? Author: 20Drift, Posted: Tue Oct 15, 2013 10:57 am ---- Nope, eco-mode always comes on in my car if I leave it unlocked for an hour or so - not uncommon
#15: Re: ECO-MOD ? Author: sxibeast, Location: Milton KeynesPosted: Tue Oct 15, 2013 12:51 pm ---- Have you checked your earths are good and that your alternator is good?
The diodes were faulty on our 206 and was draining the battery literally over night! It was an intermittent fault that would come and go (almost like a pulse).
Get a check on that (RAC that came to us had a scope to check it with that highlighted a fault) as your battery may actually be fine
