#1: ECO-MODE ? Author: Triggerfish, Posted: Sun Sep 29, 2013 1:41 pm ---- Been doing the car recently but I've got this on the dash, does anyone know what it means?
The car also cannot start?....just ticking noise? engine not turning.
Battery at 12.25v.
Any advice/solutions?

Take the battery off and charge it. If it doesn't hold charge, then look at finding out why. Either the alternator isn't charging, bad connection, something is draining it or the battery is goosed.
Once the car is started, Eco-Mode will disappear from the mfd.

ok, the old battery is now replaced by a new one. New battery shows 12.69V and measures at 14.45V when the engine is on and running.
Have left the car on the drive for 2 days now BUT.....ECO-MODE is now on again? but starts ok.....so would this mean that something is draining the battery?.....if so, how would you go about finding out what it is?

mmmmm.....timer, so does anyone know what that time would be? 24hrs?
This is rather confusing and I wonder if it has anything to do with an electrical part I had replaced recently? which were the com 2000 unit.
Any thoughts?

As far i was aware this only shut off the power and powered down the car to prevent aux equipment draining the battery and had nothing to do with any voltage/power issues on the car?
My sisters 206 however, has stopped displaying Eco Mode and wont shut off the stereo...

Although the car were simply de-alarmed and simply left as it is, no opening of doors or anything on inside.....yet some 2 hours later, trying to start the car, the eco-mode is on.
So maybe yes, it is a time thing. But surely, this eco-mode is there to protect the battery draining.....so would this not mean something is draining the battery itself?

The diodes were faulty on our 206 and was draining the battery literally over night! It was an intermittent fault that would come and go (almost like a pulse).
Get a check on that (RAC that came to us had a scope to check it with that highlighted a fault) as your battery may actually be fine
