Do you have an induction kit fitted? I've found induction kits that aren't enclosed will suffer from heat soak. My GTi 6 was gutless at high speed, couldn't even get to the redline in 5th. Refitted the standard airbox with a Green filter = problem solved.

hi
just have the k+n panel filter.
was fine up until a week or so ago.
finding i can hit the limiter in 1st 4 gears,
but not had time to get under and seal that leak yet.It has however become noisier under the drivers seat , so 1st job to attack when i finish wed.

well, fixed the leak,and at the same time i added some archoil to the fuel.
what a difference.
The car now cleanly pulls straight to the limiter on the 1st 3 gears, and carries on pulling like a train.
Job done.
