#1: MA5 Gearbox ratios / gearbox replacement advice Author: luby, Posted: Tue Oct 15, 2013 4:46 pm ---- I am having problems with 206 1.4 2001 MA5 gearbox - the code is 20CF09. Can't find the exact replacement in New Zealand, and shipping from UK is horrendous, plus there would be no way to get any warranty recognised if I choose to import one. However I have found another MA5 gearbox from apparently a low kms 1.4 vehicle. The code of that gearbox is 20CE45.
I located the gearbox ratios for 20CF09 by chance on one of the web sites, but cannot do the same for 20CE45. Does anyone have the info I am after, or can offer an advice on whether I can buy 20CE45 and fit it in place of 20CF09 without any issues?
Looking at the codes, 20CE45 seems to be older one, perhaps from 1998-2000 vehicle, and it was mostly used with KFX engine, while my engine is KFW. I don't have the access to VIN of the vehicle the 20CE45 gearbox is from, so can't use Peugeot servicebox to find more info, or maybe just don't know how. Any help/advice would be highly appreciated.
#2: Re: MA5 Gearbox ratios / gearbox replacement advice Author: luby, Posted: Thu Oct 17, 2013 10:52 pm ---- Ok, I found the info I needed. The only difference seems to be in third gear. For 20CE45 the gear ratio is stated as 29x37 and for 20CF09 is is 32x41.
Can someone in the know tell me how will that difference impact the vehicle on the road if I replace 20CF09 with 20CE45 gearbox?
