Firstly i took the surround of the speedo clocks and pulled them out from the dash enough so i could get the clear plastic front off. i removed the clear front and placed the clocks back in position. i turned on the ignition so the fuel gauge needle goes up. then go in to the sender which is under the back seat drivers side and unplug it. after a few seconds the fuel gauge needle should drop to where (in my opinion) it would register no fuel. take to table spoons to your gauge and carefully use the spoon end on either side of the needle and gently work it loose. remove it and then carefully place it back on in the empty position. i did this and now my fuel light comes on just under a quarter tank. much better than coming on at half a tank lol.
Hope this helps

Brimming the tank can also work, but not guaranteed.
