#1: Fuel Gauge Problem Author: BG101, Posted: Mon Oct 21, 2013 8:13 am ---- Hi All,
I have a 53 plate 1.4 HDI.
The problem I am having is that the fuel gauge is not working and the fuel light is always on.
If I lift my back seats and give the cables connected to the fuel pump a wiggle, it used to work and the fuel gauge would go up to show how much is left. but would never re-set after filling up again. Now that doesn't reset it.
I thought is was the pump at first until discovering that playing with the cables reset it so now I don't really know. It could just be a faulty cable.
Anyone ever know or had this issue before?
Also, does anyone know where I can find a new cable from?
I can not find the cable anywhere online, or it could be that I don't know what I am looking for.
Thanks
BG

connector itself, take the connector off, and give a good clean, the copper connectors can become a bit green and mouldy looking.

I'll give it a go later.
Can anyone recommend the best way to clean connectors? I'm sure I read somewhere a certain spray is best.
