So I've had my 2003 1.4lt 206 for just over a year now and its been reliable up until this last month.
Recently when starting the car, I've experienced a judder whilst it's idling, however, a few presses of the accelerator and the problem seems to go and it idles normally.
My concern is that it doesn't happen every time on start-up, it seems to be an intermittent problem (only happens when it's cold but not all the time). so sometimes it will judder and other times not. Whilst it's in the juddering state, the revs are not affected and maintain at around 1100rpm(whilst cold), this makes me want to rule out the sign of a failing injector. Could it be just be a sign that the coil pack is starting to wear and a new one should be in order soon? or a sensor of some kind?
On a side note, I've got the sound of water swishing about coming from the front passenger side. I've checked the door sill and no water comes out; my heater still works properly so it shouldn't be the heater matrix?

Carb Cleaner can be picked up from Halfords for £7 for a can too!

Just out of curiosity, would dissembling the coil pack and removing/cleaning the spark plugs make any difference whatsoever? would it be worth doing?

Not quite sure on that one - never really had a stab at it. Someone else on here may be able to help you a bit more in terms of the engine components itself
#7: Re: Temperamental judder whilst idling Author: macca1411, Location: Westhoughton, LancashirePosted: Wed Oct 23, 2013 7:59 am ---- Not much you can do with the coil pack, but for the 5 minutes it takes to whip the plugs out it would be worth giving them a clean and making sure they are gapped correctly. You'll may get an idea of how the engine is running and if the judder is caused by something else other than the ICV from the colour of the plugs.
Check the drain holes are clear at the bottom of the door. If they are blocked with crap, then water could be sloshing around inside the door itself.

Drain holes are the bottom of the door you say? I've never actually looked underneath the door itself; I have moved the door about vigorously to see if I could hear any water in which I couldn't.

EDIT: I cleaned up the ICV (wasn't too dirty to begin with, but I did it anyway just because I like taking things apart) and nothing has really changed; I did have a small panic attack because I knocked the clip that holds the throttle cable in place and all of a sudden my accelerator pedal just went all floppy travelling at 30mph on a busy road!
