Lee's 180

Hey info users! Thought it was about time I started a project thread on my shiny new gti 180! I picked it up from a friend for £4k on a 53 plate with 48k on the clock a little over a week ago! It's a little bit of a step-up from my fake ST fiesta (1.25) but I love it lol The power is awesome fair play! It's not my first foray into the realm of French cars, so I don't expect it to get through MOT's first time or anything! Anyways, here's some pics of it so you lot can give me some idea's in which direction to go modding wise! Here we go:

And one for all you council workers out there!

So any feedback is welcomed, and lay some idea's on me! Cheers guys and gals!

Another question, had a look but couldn't find much:

My car seems to heat up and not cool down, when I sit in traffic it goes just past the vertical (90 degree) point and will keep going if I don't move. It has never overheated but it seems like it wants to, is this normal? Every now and again it seems like the fan kicks in but it seems very temperamental?

#26: Re: Lee's 180 Author: Brian, Location: VVT Land, Fife PostPosted: Mon Apr 26, 2010 2:45 pm
    ----
Check your coolant levels first of all. But no it shouldn't be sitting at 90 degrees all the time. Although you shouldn't be too alarmed.

Ok will have a look tomorrow mate, if it's down where can I get coolant from? Excluding halfrauds lol

You can get ready mixed stuff from Homebase (Carplan) if you wanted to. If your worried about your engine temp (with it rising), in the meantime, I think if you put your AC on low (1 fan on the digital control) on 16 degrees it should bring it down slowly. Not sure if your supposed to do that, but I noticed my engine temperature drop from 90 to about 79 when I put the AC on.

oil and white wheels preferably standard peugeot but powdercoated or summet? all you need (IMO)Awesome car mate

#30: Re: Lee's 180 Author: Lee., Location: Blackwood, South Wales PostPosted: Fri Apr 30, 2010 4:13 pm
    ----
Well the coolant tank was near enough full, but I put some in anyway to take it over the max just to see what would happen! Next day was stuck in traffic again and it didn't go above 90 (which it had before). So don't know what to think, does coolant go bad?

Plus I would love to get the wheels powder coated, any idea's on colours? I can't decide between white or a darker colour?
