#1: Any help? Author: dan1995206, Posted: Wed Oct 30, 2013 7:15 pm ---- Hi, sorry if it seems like I'm going to moan but I'm having a few problems with my pug which is driving me crazy and making want to swap it in! Firstly I have developed a load tire noise although I am running budgets so I may have answered my own question there! Secondly my central locking is playing up it sometimes doesn't lock and the front left door flashed to say it's open when it's not? I have annoying problem that it constantly is steaming up snd I always get water on the inside of the windscreen. Any suggestions or advice would be great as my insurance is up soon snd I want a project car but wondering if this is to far gone?
Thanks

Author: tom2581, Location: wolverhamptonPosted: Thu Oct 31, 2013 5:28 am ---- windscreen seal could be letting water in, 1st thing 1st is to change pollen filter if thats damp, it could be sucking moisture into the cabin when blowers are on, i';ve had this problem on other cars but not the pug as of yet, as for central locking at the door saying its open at a guess i'd say new door switch, and locking motor ??
only guesses but hope i'm of some help

It seems like the only solution is to replace the door lock actuator, I bought my replacement off ebay for £10 inc postage, just make sure you get the right one as i believe there are 2 different plug units, unfortunately the only way to do this is to get inside the door and have a look, be aware the the plug can be a b1tch to get off.
Took me about 1/2 hour to replace mine. Looks a complicated job at 1st as the door lock itself needs to come out and then everything needs to be lined up to work. My advice is to take pictures as you go along.

About the steaming from the front windscreen when heater is on,I believe that your heater matrix is on it way out, check for water in the floor,or lose of your coolant.

Damp mats. Where is the water getting in if they are damp. Are window or door seals leaking or have your mates spilt a drink?
Does your car have the Roland Garos sun roof? These get quite wet with condensation on the inside in cold wet weather over night. When you start to drive that moisture gets moved by the circulating air and settles on the windscreen. The only fix is to wipe that that sunroof dry when you first get in the car and leaving the sliding blind pulled back rather than covering the sunroof also reduces the condensation.
Blocked pollen filter. This prevents dryer outside air getting into the car so you only circulate damp air.
Heater setting set to recirculate air. Do not do this as your own breath contains a lot of moisture that will build up in the air and settle on the cold windows.
As already mentioned leaking radiator matrix.
