Mechanics help wanted
Here is my problem:- my rear trailing arm bearing went on my Pug back in March this year so I replaced the axle with a reconditioned one from Axle Direct which came with a 2 year warranty.
Well it’s now gone again!

I know that it’s the trailing arm as everytime I go over the slightest bump its knocking and creaking and I can get my fingers behind the rear nearside tyre but NOT the Offside tyre which indicates to me its gone again!

I took it to a Peugeot Dealer who confirmed this for me but would not put it in writing unless I paid them £25 + VAT!!

The Axle Direct will not send me a replacement unless I get a report from a mechanic on headed paper to confirm fault.
It does not have to be a Peugeot Mechanic they said any mechanic would do as long as it was on headed paper.

Is there a mechanic on this forum that could help me out with a report????

Pay 25 quid and get them to pay for the report.

You should not be liable for any cost

I would do that if I live in the UK,but as Addaz said, pay 25 and get it,better than fixing your axle and pay more.

I don't see what the problem is, go to any garage and ask for a written estimate for the repair, but just ask them to put on why they are replacing the axle.

As above. Go to a franchise garage and ask for a written quote.

I have tried 4 garages and they all want money for this service the most so far was £75 + VAT!!!
