#1: No Speedo or reverse lights! Author: jocarl011, Posted: Fri Nov 08, 2013 4:02 am ---- Hi, I have bought a 2002 206 gti 138 and was told the speedo doesn't work and it will be a sensor on the gearbox, I've since noticed that the reverse lights don't work and the fuse in the engine bay is for both so I checked that and it is not blown!
Can anyone help with what to check next? Is this a common fault?
I assume as the reverse lights dont work it is highly likely the 2 faults are connected seemed as they share a fuse?
Thanks Carl.

The reverse light will be the switch under the gearbox.

I repaired the reverse yesterday with a new switch.
I don't think my car has abs or at least I don't get a warning light when I first turn the ignition anyway. Where abouts on the gearbox is the speed sensor? I heard it's at the back which I can't see how I can get to without jacking it up! Thanks.

I will have a look tomorrow for the sensor, being an 02 model it might be on abs instead of gearbox, but not having an abs fault would surely mean wiring at fault?
Worth noting the odo meter also doesn't work which must mean it's not the display at fault.
