#1: car pulls sharply to 1 side Author: markysparky71, Location: northumberlandPosted: Sun Nov 10, 2013 8:54 am ---- Sorry if this has been covered previously.
In the last 12 months changed both drive shafts, drop links, lower wishbones and track rod ends.
Have noted a little play on inboard end of offside track rod end where its attached to steering rack. Is the inboard end serviceable or is the rack goosed? Car is 14hdi 02 no abs. Cheers mark

#3: Re: car pulls sharply to 1 side Author: gazza82, Location: South BucksPosted: Sun Nov 10, 2013 12:31 pm ---- A little play in the rack shouldn't cause too much pulling but will put the tracking out. So it will alter the angle whether you are braking or accelerating. Won't help tyre wear either.
Double check the lower arms ... there have been some poor quality ones on sale and the bushes fail quickly.
Also check the rear end ... the subframe/trailing arms might be moving.
Try putting the rear wheels on the front and see if it still does it .. could be a tyre defect or wheel issue.

#5: Re: car pulls sharply to 1 side Author: Sophia-206-GT, Location: East SussexPosted: Mon Nov 11, 2013 1:23 am ---- The day i got my first 206 I was driving home on the motorway and the car was seriously dragging to the side, I was fighting the steering wheel!..the aa ended up having to take me home because it was dangerous, next day had the tracking done and was perfect!! Much cheaper than I was expecting lol

#7: Re: car pulls sharply to 1 side Author: markysparky71, Location: northumberlandPosted: Wed Nov 13, 2013 12:24 pm ---- Cheers well book it in and get them to check tracking!! Checked the lower wishbones and they seem fine hope its just the tracking
#8: Re: car pulls sharply to 1 side Author: markysparky71, Location: northumberlandPosted: Wed Nov 13, 2013 12:31 pm ---- When I'm driving the steering wheel now sits in 5 past one position if I accelerate quickly or if the vehicle slowly gets to the 60 mph range all of a sudden the vehicle jerks to the side and the steering wheel sits in the 12 o'clock position. You can also manipulate the jerking by finding the rev range where this happens and lifting off and on the gas.
#9: Re: car pulls sharply to 1 side Author: kandlbarrett, Location: SwindonPosted: Wed Nov 13, 2013 1:50 pm ---- Does it pull under braking, under acceleration or all the time?
Also do a search, somewhere on here is a very, very, very, very, very, very long thread on a car pulling to one side. IIRC the problem was finally traced to two different manufacture of bottom wishbones had been fitted. A very unusual cause that one!
#10: Re: car pulls sharply to 1 side Author: kandlbarrett, Location: SwindonPosted: Wed Nov 13, 2013 1:54 pm ---- Incorrect tyre pressures?
Unequal sized tyres or wheels fitted?
Poorly repaired crash damage - bent subframe, bent chassis, bent rear axle?
Dragging front brake?
Dragging rear brake?
Is it definitely pulling or is the steering just off centre?
#11: Re: car pulls sharply to 1 side Author: markysparky71, Location: northumberlandPosted: Wed Nov 13, 2013 2:09 pm ---- Tyres all OK all 4 exactly the same less than 12 months old its just started that's wot I can't work out swapped tyres from front to back same issue no play on ball joints slight play on offside inner tie rod which I suspect it is or tracking! Only on acceleration not braking wheels spin freely so don't think brake issue either.
