#1: Idle Surge Author: doski, Location: WarwickshirePosted: Sun Nov 10, 2013 1:36 pm ---- Had my 206 for 3 months now and its all fine yet reccently I had a idle surge problem after changing the throttle body, sensors, spark plugs and coilpack it worked fine.
yesterday being rather frustrated i reversed off the drive and nailed it up the road to which when I stopped the dreaded problem had returned. The car now surges upon start up to around 1800-2200 rpm and when driving it just wants to accelerate on its own any suggestions?
btw its a 206 1.1 lx 1999 with 41k on the clock ive connected a diagnostics tool but it said it cant connect to the car
#2: Re: Idle Surge Author: leigh_boy, Location: EastbournePosted: Fri Nov 15, 2013 9:16 am ---- had this a few times and its really common, you need to either 1, replace the idle control valve in the throttle body, or 2 clean it.

#5: Re: Idle Surge Author: 2stroke, Location: IrelandPosted: Mon Dec 02, 2013 4:43 pm ---- Have the same problem, start from cold, as the car warms the idle speed suddenly increases and sits at roughly 1200 rpm, if you try to rev it she miss fires then clears above 2000 rpm. I have had the Idle speed control valve off and have cleaned it and the Throttle body. Still have the problem !
sometimes she will also stall when coming to a halt, and on restart miss fire then clear........ then idle high at roughly 1250>1500 rpm...
Is it a sure bet that the ISCV is knackered ?
Also have the low speed running probably with the fan, so will be busy sorting that out !
