#1: quick question about alternators Author: daxo, Posted: Sun Nov 17, 2013 2:58 pm ---- Hi , I have a peugeot 206 hdi 1.4 and I need to change the alternator, I want to know if I can fit a 206 1.4 petrol alternator on it, I checked at the pictures and they look the same, I just wanted to know if they are the same in voltage/amps wise... the reason for this is that a scrap yard close to my house has one for £20 but comes from a petrol 206, and I need the car running for tomorrow.
ps I dont have money to get a new one at the moment .

Also seems to suggest some have belts with splines and some with teeth ...
Not very clear-cut to me ... you'd need to know exactly what petrol version it came off ...

I think he means the toothed Vee belt.

Think it was fitted on the very early TU engines.
